Ngannous Title Reign Ends With Surprise Defeat

Francis Ngannou Knocked Out by Anthony Joshua

Ngannou's Title Reign Ends with Surprise Defeat

Joshua Extends Undefeated Streak, Captures Heavyweight Belt

In a shocking turn of events, Francis "The Predator" Ngannou has lost his UFC heavyweight championship to Anthony Joshua via a first-round knockout. The fight, which took place at the O2 Arena in London, England, lasted only three minutes and seven seconds.

Joshua, who is now 25-0 with 22 knockouts, landed a flush straight right on Ngannou's chin that sent the Cameroonian crashing to the canvas. Ngannou was unable to recover, and the referee stopped the fight.

This victory marks the end of Ngannou's reign as UFC heavyweight champion. The 35-year-old had won the title in March 2021 by defeating Stipe Miocic. Ngannou had successfully defended his belt once, against Ciryl Gane in January 2022.

Joshua's victory is a major upset, as Ngannou was considered to be one of the most dominant heavyweights in the world. Ngannou had previously knocked out some of the biggest names in the UFC, including Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, and Junior Dos Santos.

With this win, Joshua has established himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the world. The 32-year-old is now a two-time heavyweight champion, having previously held the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.

The future is uncertain for Ngannou, who has now suffered his first defeat in the UFC. However, Ngannou is still one of the most talented fighters in the world, and he will no doubt be back in title contention soon.
