Another Earthquake Shakes Los Angeles

Another Earthquake Shakes Los Angeles

A 52-magnitude earthquake shook Los Angeles region Tuesday

A moderately strong 52-magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California on Tuesday according to the United States Geological Survey.

A string of recent California quakes leave residents frustrated

The quake struck near Lamont, California, a small town in Kern County, at 10:33 p.m. and was felt across a broad swath of Southern California, including Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.

There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries, but the quake did cause some power outages and disrupted traffic. The quake was the latest in a string of recent temblors to hit Southern California. A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Los Angeles area on Monday afternoon, and a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck west of Los Angeles on Friday.

The recent quakes have left some residents feeling frustrated and on edge. "It's been a little bit scary, to be honest," said Los Angeles resident Maria Garcia. "I've never felt so many earthquakes in such a short period of time."

Seismologists say that the recent quakes are not unusual for Southern California, which is located on several fault lines. However, they say it is impossible to predict when the next major earthquake will strike.
