The Packers Cut Kicker Anders Carlson After Playoff Disaster

Packers Make Change at Kicker Position

After a disastrous playoff performance, the Green Bay Packers have cut kicker Anders Carlson.

The Packers released Carlson on Monday, August 15, 2023, one year after signing him to a one-year contract.

Carlson struggled mightily in the Packers' Divisional Round playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, missing two field goals and an extra point.

The Packers had high hopes for Carlson, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he was unable to live up to expectations.

In 17 games with the Packers, Carlson made just 24 of 33 field goal attempts (72.7%) and 34 of 35 extra point attempts (97.1%).

The Packers are now expected to sign a new kicker before the start of the regular season.
