New Brunswick hoop dreams in Paris
Local basketball players to represent Canada at 2024 Olympics
Three New Brunswick basketball players are set to represent Canada at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The players, who all play for the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds, are guard Bridget Carleton, forward Micahya Moore, and center Sarah Te-Biasu.
Carleton, who is from Chatham, N.B., is a two-time Olympian and was a member of the Canadian team that won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Moore, who is from Saint John, N.B., is a rising star in the Canadian basketball scene and was named the U SPORTS Player of the Year in 2022.
Te-Biasu, who is from Fredericton, N.B., is a physical presence in the paint and was a key contributor to the Varsity Reds' success in the 2022-23 season.
The three players will be part of a strong Canadian team that is hoping to medal in Paris.
The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.
New Brunswick's basketball community is proud of the three players who will be representing Canada at the Olympics.
The players are all role models for young basketball players in the province and their success shows that anything is possible if you work hard and follow your dreams.
The community will be cheering for the players and the Canadian team in Paris.
